Claudete Oliveira Moreira is Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Tourism, Tourism section at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, where she has taught and conducted research since 2001. She has a PhD in Tourism, Leisure and Culture, Tourism and Development branch, from the University of Coimbra, since 2014. She is a full member of the research unit CEGOT, Centre of Studies in Geography and Spatial Planning, Group Tourism, Heritage and Territory, R&D Unit funded by the Portuguese Agency for Science and Technology (FCT). She is Director of the Master in Tourism, Territory and Heritage, and Subdirector of the PhD in Food Heritage: Cultures and Identities, at the University of Coimbra. She was Subdirector of the Post-graduation in Food Heritage & Territorial Development at the Centre for Higher Studies of the University of Coimbra in Alcobaça (inserted in the Living the Future Academy) (2022-2024). She was the Director of the 1st Cycle, Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, Territory and Heritage (2017-2021). She has supervised master’s and doctoral students in the scientific area of Tourism. She is a member of the Technical-Scientific Council (CTC) of the Centre of Portugal Sustainable Tourism Observatory (OTSCP). Member of the Advisory Committee for Sustainable Tourism (indicator 21) and Climate Change (indicator 9) of ECOXXI municipalities and of the ECOFreguesias certifications of the Blue Flag Association for the Environment and Education (ABAAE), Portuguese Section of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). Member of the DIAITA Transnational Lusophone Food Heritage Network. Member of the Cape Verdean Scientific Diaspora for Tourism. Member of the International Research Network on Tourism and Contemporary Socio-territorial Dynamics. Member of AIEST, International Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism. Her research interests include tourism, tourism system, local, regional and national tourism development, destination planning, destination management, heritage, leisure activities, and events.
