Rui Lobo
Rui Lobo is an architect and Associate Professor of History of Architecture at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC). He is also a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the same University (CES-UC). He graduated in 1994 and did his PhD in 2010, with a thesis on University Architecture and Urbanism in the Iberian Peninsula of the medieval and early modern era. He has produced research in history of architecture of the Renaissance, of the Baroque and of the Enlightenment, and in history of Portuguese architecture. He is author of the book The Colleges of Jesus and Arts of Coimbra, 1542-1759 (Coimbra, Edarq, 2021), amongst other published work. He was the Principal Researcher of the SANTACRUZ Project – 3D digital reconstitution of the Monastery of Santa Cruz of Coimbra in 1834, seeded at CES-UC and developed between 2018 and 2022. He is co-coordinator of the PhD Course in Architecture of the University of Coimbra.
