Ahead of the workshop for Reframing (Viti)Cultural Landscapes in Flanders, which took place on the 10th of June at the CAG in Leuven, Convivium’s documentary team continued filming to highlight Belgium’s emerging viticultural landscapes, including unique approaches to economic models, cultivation, and climate resilience.

The team, architect Sérgio Rebelo, researcher Jenny Herman (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and Paulo Cunha Martins (filmmaker and videographer) visited three wine domains to conduct interviews and learn about each winemaker’s unique approach. These included Domain W, an ambitious project focused on sparkling wines, regenerative agriculture, biodynamics and community development (led by Dimitri Vander Hayden), Wijndomein Valke Vleug, with its striking architecture, focus on gastronomic events, cool climate wines, and a blend of polyculture and biodynamic elements (visit led by Pieter Raemakers, co-founder), and Antidoot Wilde Fermenten, led by co-founder Tom Jacobs whose philosophy focuses on rigorously-biodiverse cultivation, fermenting (beer, cider, grapes, other fruits) and making clean ferments which express changing seasons, experiments, and his own inspiration.
