CAN A DRIED COD HEAD CAPTURE THE SPIRIT OF A PLACE?
“Beautiful” sits alongside “sustainable” and “together” at the heart of the New European Bauhaus. But what does beautiful mean, and to whom?
These photographs from our visit to Lofoten this summer invite different readings. Some may see poetry in the weathered textures and sculptural forms. Others may find them puzzling, unsettling or simply ordinary.
What we find beautiful is shaped by the food cultures, experiences and places we know. In CONVIVIUM, we will explore these different understandings as we test our solutions across living food cultures. How do beauty, sustainability and togetherness take on meaning in different settings, and what happens when ideas travel between them?
What do you see in these photographs?
