CIRCULAR WAYS PREPPING FOR LOFOTEN WITH PARTNERS
Welcome to Lofoten!
We at Circular Ways are excited to return to Lofoten for the upcoming
During this gathering, we will host three events where Surplus Table continues to evolve through two new solutions: Convivial Table and Family Heritage. As part of Family Heritage, we will co-create an international lunch at BUA while also presenting the redesign and upgrading work that has been developed there together with local partners and participants.
On June 30, we will gather at Napp Grendehus for a new Surplus Table combined with both a Utopia Workshop and a Hybrid Forum โ creating space for shared meals, dialogue, future visions, and community-building across cultures and experiences.
At the same time, we are finalising the latest kitchen upgrade at BUA โ something that has taken time, trust, and strong local collaboration to make possible. It is inspiring to see how local actors, NGOs, volunteers, and the municipality are now taking real ownership in the process. Through collaboration, reused professional kitchen equipment, local knowledge, and practical support are finding their way into the project.
For us, one of the most important outcomes is that Surplus Table continues beyond the events themselves โ growing as a community kitchen together with Framtiden i vรฅre hender and local partners. Creating long-term social spaces around shared meals, surplus food, local ingredients, and knowledge exchange is at the core of what we hope to build together.
Another success we are very happy about is that several former Surplus Table participants now want to join again โ and are also bringing new people into the activities. For us, this shows how trust, ownership, and community continue to grow over time.
Working consistently in the region has shown us how trust creates momentum. Relationships become stronger, collaborations grow more organically, and new people, ideas, ingredients, and competencies naturally connect into the network.
We are looking forward to another inspiring week in Lofoten and to sharing more from the process along the way.
