MEET OUR TEAM Jenny Herman

We present the leaders of the teams participating in the CONVIVIUM project, responsible for the implementation of the project tasks. In several episodes, we will present people from different countries, scientific centers and cultural institutions who share a common passion for food, healthy nutrition, social integration, cultural heritage, art, architecture, nature in urban space, local activities and intercultural exchange – in other words, everything that the CONVIVIUM.NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS SOLUTIONS IN FOOD, LIVING HERITAGE, AND CONVIVIALITY project involves.

Meet Jenny Herman from the University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Jenny is a researcher and writer focusing on connections between food, the arts, and society. Jenny holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from KU Leuven in Belgium, obtained as an FWO fellow in fundamental research. Jenny is a member of the Association for the Study of Food and Society (ASFS), the Association of Critical Heritage Studies (ACHS), and the Culinary Historians of New York (CHNY), and has served as a peer reviewer for the Graduate Journal of Food Studies as well as the International Journal of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Jenny’s work incorporates the fields of cultural studies, history, literary theory, and policy analysis, with special focus on culinary heritage, identity, and the intersection of cultural and agricultural policies. Jenny is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the EIREST lab at the University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne. Jenny is a principal investigator for the sub-project Re-framing Viti-cultural Landscapes, exploring wine production, sustainability and cultural heritage, and is a member of the group leadership of Work Packages 3 and 4 within Convivium, as well as a collaborator on The Convivial Table and the Convivial Foodscapes final exhibition.
